Are you tackling an R&D project that requires expertise or experience beyond that of your staffed engineers?
Do you need an extra set of hands on deck to get a time-sensitive project moving to the next milestone?
Do you need to design an experiment or test machine to validate a high risk design element in realistic conditions?
Do you simply need a fresh perspective on a thorny design challenge?
I can help with all of these challenges and more. My professional focus is on developing new technology and improving existing technology while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and reliability. Whether your project has an annual budget in the millions of dollars or thousands, I always look for the simplest and lowest cost solution first, suggesting off-the-shelf solutions where possible, and helping you recognize when a custom engineered solution is needed or more cost-effective.
As a small business, I can provide high quality services at a significantly lower cost than large technical consulting firms or staffing companies. If I do not have enough experience in your particular field, I can usually help you find the right suppliers or engineering firms to work with, and I am always enthusiastic about opportunities to learn more about a new industry or technology. I love a challenge. Check out my Technical Consulting page as well.

My experience
I have 8 years of experience doing R&D as a mechanical engineer and project manager in the oil & gas industry. I have designed complex downhole tools to withstand the highest temperatures and pressures seen in the industry, as well as hydraulic surface equipment and machinery designed for operation offshore or in arctic environments where equipment must operate in hostile environments and temperatures below -40 degrees. I have designed dozens of test machines and fixtures for validating or torture-testing prototypes before field testing, and I have spent months in the field supervising field testing of new equipment.
